A true limited-production model built by the Porsche Exclusive department, the 993-generation 911 Turbo S was Stuttgart’s last air-cooled 911 Turbo. Powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six engine with an alloy crankcase and cylinder heads, larger turbochargers, and new Bosch Motronic fuel management, it was rated at 450 PS.
As the flagship of the range, it should come as no surprise that the example on offer features an extensive list of optional extras. The exterior is finished in Black while the interior is trimmed in full Black leather, extending to the dash controls and vents. The remaining elements are either aluminium or carbon fibre. In addition, a digital sound package and comfort seats were selected as optional equipment. Additionally, an aftermarket Blaupunkt navigation screen has been fixed to the centre console to bring a piece of late-1990s technology to the interior.
Originally delivered to Vicenza, Italy, the Porsche relocated to near Modena when it was sold to its second owner in 2000. This individual remained the caretaker of the Turbo S until 2024. Today, the vehicle resides with its third owner as part of a private collection of supercars. As confirmed by an invoice dated to June 2024, the Porsche received fresh oil, a new battery, a V-belt, and a bonnet strut at the cost of €3,840. The 911 Turbo S shows just 28,832 kilometres on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. It is accompanied by an estratto cronologico that details its ownership history in Italy.
The 993-generation Turbo S represents the ultimate development of the air-cooled 911. With all-wheel drive and a powerful twin-turbo engine, only the mighty 959 can claim superiority. This handsome black-over-black example would make for a fine addition to any discerning performance car collection.
