The 981 generation was the first to come out and it is exactly such an example that we have here. The classic Guards Red exterior meets lightweight rims shod in Michelin rubber. The rim itself is a design that takes inspiration from the classic Fuchs rim. The exterior design may be based around the 981 chassis but differs greatly from the base car. The front has been given a more aggressive appearance that helps with cooling and aerodynamics. Further back, a more aggressive air intake behind the door with a discreet GT4 emblem. But it is at the rear that the car differs most noticeably. A fixed wing and a deeper diffuser cement the look of the GT4 as a really mean little bulldog.

The interior is of course driver-focused and fully upholstered in leather and alcantara. Here you have what you need to drive fast. Between the seats is what might be seen as the car’s highlight. The manual gear selector. A dual-clutch gearbox may be a few seconds faster, but in this class and with these power figures, nothing beats the mechanical feeling of shifting gears yourself. The gearbox is in turn connected to a 3.8L six that delivers 385hp and of course only to the rear axle. Consistent red stitching divides the black upholstery and in the headrests of the 18-way seats, the car should proudly display its model designation in red.

Porsche’s GT4 platform remains one of the most enjoyable cars to drive in the brand’s history. 3847 km and with PPF over the exposed areas, this GT4 remains in wonderful condition.
