Supplied in Texas in September 1963, little is know about its early life. Before arriving in the UK however, it had changed colour from its original Ivory to a gorgeous rich red. The 60 bhp motor was exchanged for an age-appropriate 75 bhp ‘S’ unit and along with twin Dellorto carbs, this ensured better performance and ‘driveability’.

Purchased in March 1993 by a car enthusiast who had an unusual collection (including Citroens, Jaguars, Mercedes, a Lagonda and other Porsche), it was used sparingly, taking its turn with the others, appearing at local motor club events. In fact, it covered just 3,300 miles in 19 years. When the gentleman passed away in 2011, the 356 was left to his son and son-in-law, themselves both car fans.

Having not had a great deal of use, it was decided to mechanically recommission the 356 for the new owners to enjoy it in the same way it had become accustomed to, including an appearance at the Goodwood Revival in 2013.

Now having covered less than 5,500 miles since its UK arrival, it’s looking for a new home.
