1962 Porsche 356B T6 Super Coupe for sale!

Originally imported by Porsche Car Pacific Inc and sold to its first owner Terry Cantwell in Grants Pass, Oregon. Finished in its factory color combination of Light Ivory with Red leatherette upholstery. Drivers’ quality 356B Coupe with satisfactory Ivory paintwork that contrasts very well against polished brightwork and original glass. The interior is trimmed in its original color with recently reupholstered seats, dash, door panels, and red German square weave carpets. The dashboard features VDO instrumentation, a Porsche radio delete plate, and a VDM wheel with a deluxe horn ring. Equipped with 4.5” x 15”, chrome slotted wheels with nipple SUPER hubcaps.

Mechanically powered by its matching (616/12) 1600cc flat-four SUPER engine that runs flawlessly paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and recently rebuilt hydraulic drum braking system. Complete with Kardex and a spare tire. An excellent opportunity to acquire a 356B as they are becoming increasingly difficult to find.

History

In late 1959 significant styling and technical refinements gave rise to the 356B (a T5 body type). The mid-1962 356B model was changed to the T6 body type (twin engine lid grilles, an external fuel filler in the right front wing/fender, and a larger rear window in the coupé). It is interesting to note that the Porsche factory didn’t call attention to these quite visible changes with a different model designation. However, when the T6 got disc brakes, with no other visible alterations, they called it the model C, or the SC when it had the optional extra powerful engine.
