The paintwork has been recently paint-corrected and detailed. The aluminum trim, chrome work, and rubber seals are all in excellent condition. The taillights, front turn signals, and glass are also original. The interior presents incredibly well, with reupholstered front seats featuring a VDM steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. The soft top has been reupholstered with a new black canvas, pad, and headliner. 5 ½” x 15” (Date-coded 1964) chrome-slotted wheels mounted to Michelin Defender 185 65 R15 tires (date-coded 2022). The undercarriage and suspension components have been stripped to steel and recoated to factory specifications.

According to the records, the 356s service history began on January 19, 1999, when it was taken to German Auto Technik A.G. in Santa Monica, California, for a comprehensive engine and front-end suspension rebuild. After several years of enjoyment, it was sent to German Motors in 2013 for a complete top-end rebuild, which included new pistons and cylinders, connecting rods, main bearings, rod bearings, and engine gaskets. More recent services include work completed by a Foreign Sport Technician on June 7, 2022, at 97,081 miles, which involved a new clutch, the transmission was rebuilt, and the front and rear shocks and axle bearings were replaced, totaling $18,271. Subsequently, on June 27, 2023, further maintenance was performed, including replacing the distributor, fuel pump, and relay and rebuilding the carburetors.
