Purchased new at Porsche Cars of Manhattan in New Jersey, on July 20, 1965, by Mr. Kingsford. Originally purchased for $4,655.35, with a Blaupunkt Radio for $136.95 and a Side View Mirror for $13.40. Factory color combination Irish Green with Black upholstery. Mr. Kingsford had this 356 for over 25 years. After 30 years of ownership, Mr. Kingsford sold the 356, Mr. Ferrerlli who decided to begin an extensive restoration at German Classic Cars (Dennis J Frick) in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, known for their award-winning restorations.

From 1995-1996, the Cabriolet was completely stripped to the tub, assessed for imperfections, and repainted in Irish Green (6406). A very straight and rust-free example with great gaps and panel fit. The matching driveline was completely disassembled, refinished, and rebuilt. Today it is in amazing condition and is a pleasure to drive. Due to the extreme care of the previous owners, this restoration is in stunning condition! Complete with original invoice, documentation, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, Nardi Wood Steering Wheel, side view mirror, owners manual & tools. A unique opportunity to own one of the last 356 C Cabriolets ever built.

History

The last revision of the 356 was the 356 C introduced for the 1964 model year. It featured disc brakes all around, as well as an option for the most powerful pushrod engine Porsche had ever produced, the 95 hp (71 kW) “SC”. Porsche continued to sell the 356 C in North America through 1965 as demand for the model remained quite strong in the early days of the heavier and more “civilized” 911. The last ten 356s (Cabriolets) were assembled for the Dutch police force in March 1966 as 1965 models.
