By the introduction of the impact-bumper 911 in 1974, Porsche was well aware of the need to continue brilliantly potent mechanical combination of the revered 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7. This came into production as the 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI. Essentially a mechanical twin of the 2.7 RS Touring, but with a stronger chassis and crash bumpers, the Carrera carried over the same 911/83 powerplant as the 2.7 RS and developed approximately 210HP–with unmatched engine response and character provided by the Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Otherwise known as the “Euro” Carrera or RoW (Rest-of-World), its US-bound counterparts were emissions-restricted to a 2.7l CIS-injected engine producing only 175HP and lacking the same response of its MFI brother. Only 1,026 RoW Carrera 2.7 examples were produced in 1974.

Het voertuig in detail

Originally delivered to Italy and later imported to the US from Belgium, this example is finished in striking Orange (E7) with Midnight leatherette interior and carpet (appearing nearly black and correct for a ’74 Carrera). With 94,418km or approx. 56,668mi since new, the engine and MFI pump were rebuilt after the car was imported to stateside in 2015. In the years following, the car has regularly been serviced including a comprehensive tuning of the MFI system. The Carrera is fitted with forged Fuchs wheels, sized 15 X 7 and 15 X 8, with Pirelli P6000 N1 tires mounted, sized 195/65-15 and 215/60-15. It is equipped electric windows and was delivered without sunroof. Currently the car has an aftermarket OMP steering wheel installed, however the original included. Additionally the vehicle comes with spare tire, tool kit, jack, original manuals and service receipts/records.
