A classic air cooled 911 from the producer who is synonymous with the Targa name (derived from the classic Italian race Targa Florio) and constantly developed upon. This model has the updated aluminum engine block, which is superior to the previous magnesium block as well as Bosch K-Jetronic injection. With effect from model year 1981 the body was fully galvanized, which in combination with high quality steel from Thyssen meant much improved body quality and protection against rust.

The US market was always important to Porsche and this example has driven nearly all its 108,000 km in Virginia backed up by a substantial amount of documentation for service etc. The car was imported to Germany in 2013 to be included in a collection and a considerable amount was used on repairs, improvements and service – all documented. The car is completely matching numbers as documented by a CoA from Porsche. As far as we can judge the body was never welded but previously repainted in its original black color.

Behind the wheel everything works as it is supposed to do and the 915 gear box shifts precisely with no noise – also when downshifting. The engine pulls nice and evenly accompanied by the beautiful rasping sound that only an air cooled engine can make. Steering, suspension and brakes work flawlessly and it is a real joy to drive this car. All in all a sorted classic Targa Porsche, which drives and sounds as it is supposed to do.

The car is delivered with fresh German TUV and title ready to provide its new owner with lots of fun and joy in the future.
