Het voertuig in detail

According to Porsche 911 Turbo: Air-Cooled Years 1975–1988, the car offered here is one of 114 Turbo Cabriolets optioned with the M505 “Flat-Nose,” or “Flachbau,” package, powered by the Type 930.68 engine, to be delivered new to North America for the 1988 model year.

Factory-finished in Grand Prix White over Burgundy leather, it was optioned with a Burgundy power soft top, limited-slip differential, seats with lumbar support, a Blaupunkt Reno stereo and multi-speakers, and security system. Like all Turbos, this example has a full climate control system, headlamp washers, and other niceties. The centers of the Fuchs forged alloy wheels are painted to match the body color.
A dream for many Porsche enthusiasts, this Flat-Nose Cabriolet was prepared for tourist delivery, and the original owner traveled to Germany in the early fall of 1987 to enjoy his brand-new car on the roads of Europe. Shipping documents on file indicate the 911 Turbo arrived in the United States on 5 November 1987 and was subsequently transported to the Posche Cars North America in Charleston, South Carolina for pickup. For over 30 years, the car remained with its original owner based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Within the original warranty and maintenance book, Hendrick Porsche stamps indicating oil changes and maintenance are present from 1987 to 2020. Additionally, a collection of invoices dating back to 1988 are present within the files. In 2020, the most recent mechanical service included the installation of a new fuel distributor, fuel accumulator, and steering bushing. An oil change was also performed at this time.
The White Collection acquired this Flat-Nose in 2021, and it has since been started every month in order to ensure proper working condition. Today, just 4,186 miles appear on the odometer at the time of cataloguing.
Thirty-six years after leaving the factory, this highly attractive 1988 911 Turbo “Flat-Nose” Cabriolet remains in exquisite and very original condition both inside and out. Retaining its original owner’s manuals, warranty book, and sales documentation, as well as invoices, first aid kit, and tools, it is surely among the very finest examples of this rare model in existence.
