Porsche 996 Targa for sale!

Much has been written about Porsche’s 996 model, but what is certain is that this was a major step in the ongoing history of the 911’s development. Porsche decided that the future development of the classic air-cooled engine required conventional water cooling, and so the factory developed a 3.4 liter engine that produced a respectable 300 hp – still located at the rear, as is usual for the 911. The Series I 996 reused parts of the design from the Boxster, including the now famous headlights nicknamed the “fried egg’s”. This changed in 2002 with the introduction of the Series II, where the engine was also further developed, now 3.6 liters with 315 hp. At the same time the Targa version was introduced, actually with the same roof construction as found in the predecessor 993. The Targa is easily recognized by the more sharp angle of the rear side window compared to the regular coupe.

This example has only done 62,500 km fully documented and is hysterically well maintained. Originally owned by Porsche Sweden, and thus loaded with a vast selection of factory fitted extras. Some of the nice options include full leather cabin, 18″ Carrera light weight rims, colored side skirts, adjustable sport exhaust, sport leather steering wheel, front seat with back shields in body color (!), blue safety belts etc – all in all a total of extra equipment for more than 40.000 Euro. The color Polar Silber Metallic should also be noted, as it is slightly more blue than the more common silver metallic color. Always properly serviced. The car was imported to Denmark in 2018 and has since been owned by an enthusiast who has taken great care of it. There is not a scratch in the (original) paint, the cabin is like new and the car drives excellent with it’s 6-speed manual gearbox and great sound from the sports exhaust (which is even with electrically managed sound opening for fun and race).

The car is for a connoisseur who only wants the best. With the increasing interest (and prices) for the better 996 models, it has today almost become impossible to find an super example like this one. Obvious investment potential.
