It is worth reiterating the revolution that the 996 represented for Porsche.

Longer, wider and lower, this generation started from a clean sheet by respecting the original rear-engine formula and reinventing the shape of the 911, referencing the classic silhouette, but smoothing all surfaces to create a more modern ride.

Few would question that it lacked the charm of models like the 964 or the allure of the previous version, the 993, although it is true that it was somewhat strange for the model’s more traditional defenders.

However, with everything, it is better, lighter, more powerful, stiffer and has a more sophisticated suspension and it shows when driving.
