In the rear, we find the incredible M97.70 engine, arguably one of the Porsche engines ever made. It packs 3.6l of twin-turbocharged oomph, good for 480hp and a massive 620nm (680nm overboost in Sport mode). Apart from these impressive numbers, this 997 was the first time that Porsche used Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) on a production car: meaning instant throttle response at any RPMs with maximum torque already available at 2100 RPMs… Couple this with a short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox and you get yourself a rocket capable of 309km/h and 0-100km/h in 3.9s.
