The body is unusually nice, original in all the places these can have issues. It means the panel alignment is excellent, gaps are good, the brightwork and glass are great too.

The Targa roof has an excellent fit, but this is a car to be enjoyed with the top off, stowed in the front. That’s when the beauty of fresh air classic 911 motoring becomes obvious.

Inside the seats, dash and door panels are the original vinyl. The dash top is original with just a small crack between the speaker grille and the screen. The condition internally offers more evidence of a life lived indoors and little used. Carpets have been replaced with the correct, accurate type.

To drive it is impressive. A very responsive engine with that sweet 6 cylinder song when you get it going. Coupled with the five speed 915 transmission, it gives all the performance you would need to enjoy beautiful dry days and unforgettable journeys. Original specifications for the 2.4 E state 165 bhp and 137 mph top speed.

We would class this Targa as a strong Condition Grade 3, maybe a 4.
