Interior:
The carpet is replaced for a very weird pile carpet. This tells again how low the value of a 356 was back than. Nobody would do that nowadays. Seats are recovered once but the correct seats. Steering wheel, gauges and All the rest are original.
Mechanical:
Engine and gearbox
The engine is all correct but the case is once replaced by a blank one. The car had already 100.000 miles in the seventies which means mostly a revision or replacement. A brand new case was the best option in these days. Nobody cared about matching numbers. Regarding the last servicerecord in 2016 the was parked since 1984. The owner brought it to a specialist to make it running again. App 5000 usd was spent. Invoice comes with the car.
The gearbox is matching. shits in every gear.
Brakes:
Because it was parked for such a long period brakes were frozen. Every thing was cleaned and hardware like springs were replaced with correct parts. Invoice comes with the car.
This 356 is a good example of a solid California survivor.
Who likes to drive it as is has a good car with it. Who likes to restore it has a very good and sound start.
Good driver!
