We supplied this 911 some years ago. It’s a genuine UK RHD delivered in March 1976 by Dick Lovett Porsche. The colour is the original shade of Arrow Blue (305 9 2), one of the most rare and desirable colours for this era Porsche. RHD are rare, RHD in this condition, in an original form, even more so. And ones with a great colour and history….hardly ever seen.
The car presents really well, with overall a very nice paint finish, excellent chrome and excellent interior. It would be very easy (and worthwhile) to bring this one to a higher level still by addressing a couple of small areas of paint. The sort of thing you can do in the winter and enjoy as it is right now. You see 911 of the mid/early 70’s being sold as projects, some ‚running‘. However, by the time you pay for sorting them out, you will have spent more than we ask here and still not have as good a car as this. You need to be wealthy to buy a poor one.
Note the fit of the panels, the gaps, the straightness. Note too, the correct original specification, with 6″ Cookie cutter alloys, the bright anodised door frames, chrome headlights and handles. Inside you will find the original carpets, off white headlining and Pepita cloth seats. The perfect dash, clear instruments. We see no sign of changed or accident repaired body panels, the underside is very nice too. It is ‚matching numbers‘.
To drive it is willing, eager and a very nice place to be. Shifting (just had new linkage bushes) is smooth, the clutch light, brakes and suspension are good…..it’s a classic 911 that I would happily set off for Italy driving. It’s a pleasure, a well sorted classic 911.
It comes with its history from day one, the original handbooks, invoices, tools, and spare wheel. From memory, it was owned by a senior Porsche Club member in the Channel Islands for many years and was quite well known.
Ready to use, enjoy and love immediately.
We rate this 911 as a Grade 3 driver quality, easily lifted to a Grade 4. That means it’s a really good driver with nothing technical or serious for you to worry about. You can and should enjoy it through this summer. Addressing just a small amount of paint will raise it to a good 4 and pay dividends.
