Check out this truly rare, very authentic 1954 Porsche Speedster. Porsche Speedsters were produced from 1954 to 1959 and 4145 were produced by Porsche in Germany. The first year that Speedsters were produced was 1954 and only 200 were built on a 356 cabriolet chassis. This particular Speedster is vin 80183 and is one of the first 200 series cars built in 1954. This car has been professionally restored and painted and is in remarkable condition inside and out. The paint has been colour-matched to the original dash sample of Speedster blue which is paint code #602. Originally only 193 Speedsters had been painted Speedster blue out of the total 4145 cars built.

The interior has been returned to the original material, Acella bast code # K2226 and this material was only used for one year in 1954. The original motor #34093 has been rebuilt using a cam from an S motor for better performance. The original transmission has also been rebuilt using later model internals to provide synchromesh shifting and the ability to cruise at highway speeds. Currently the car is fitted with a fiberglass removable top which is painted a Mercedes silver metallic. The original folding top comes with new material and comes with the car. Techno magnesia wheels are currently on the car and are shod with 165 Vredestein classic sprint tires. 16” rims which were original equipment, are also available with the car however they are not painted body color, nor are the tires mounted on the rims. The interior has also been fitted with a new carpet, oatmeal style, German weave. All knobs, handles and gauges have been refurbished to original condition. Where original parts were not available, high quality replacements have been used.

This Speedster has some very minor paint blemishes which have occurred during its use and these blemishes will be professionally restored prior to delivery. The Speedster also comes with an original style tool kit. The car is mechanically sound and runs and drives very well. We are very honoured to offer this 1954 Porsche Speedster available for sale.
