Normally reserved for the RS variant, this C2 finished in Maritimblau, one of Porsche’s most loved colors throughout the years.  Traveling approximately only 45K miles in 25 years, this PTS 964 is an exceptional example. Delivered new at Mizwa in Japan, the C2 has been stateside for some time now.  Not having to do much, we have serviced the C2 and it needs absolutely nothing.

We love the experience the 964 offers, just like most enthusiasts, but why is that and why do they remain popular today?  Certainly due to the evolution of automotive technology beginning in the 90s, but Porsche essentially gave us a new 911.  A new sleek body design pleasing to the eye (mainly getting rid of the accordion-like bumpers and larger bumper guards).  Very little was carried over from it’s G-body predecessor, with vast improvements in the drivetrain and mechanicals. Yes we got first time dual airbags, new climate control, instrument dials all inside the cockpit, but the main reason the 964 remains popular is the drive.  Power steering and ABS brakes became standard, and the C2 able to keep the G-50 transmission (the heavier C4 fitted with the G64). Powered by the new M64 type 3.6 liter engine that delivers 247 HP and 228 fl-lb stuffed into a 3,000 lbs 911. A top speed pushing 165 mph and a 0-60 time just over 5 seconds, but the upgrades in suspension and braking retain said power to weight ratio into a tight nimble package.

So in a nutshell as to why the 964 remains popular amongst all age demographics of Porsche drivers … they are awesome!
