This is what we call a ‘survivor’. It’s an original, not a restoration. After 30 years of slumber in the hands of the first owner and still with only 67,000 miles on it, she arrived in the UK ready for a new life. Our second owner organized a new fuel tank (due to the risk of sediment in the original), new lines, refurbished MFI pump and brought it back to sweet running health. The engine received a full service, new SSI heat exchangers, brake pipes and European spec headlights and tail lights.
In the last 18 months this remarkable 911 has received lots of admiring attention and a trip to the Le Mans Classic.
It’s a fully matching numbers example and the original spec of 1972 means that great 2.4 motor and mechanical fuel injection, 915 five speed gearbox and factory air con (not recommissioned). Just undergoing a little fettling in our workshops, it is available to view and will be ready for starting a new life with you soon.
Very different and much more rarely seen than a restored car, it sports its original colour (with some repaint many decades ago), original interior, brightwork, wheels and even the original radio and speakers. As time passes, an original, rather than a restored, becomes ever more special.
In our view a rare opportunity; Grade 4 and as such, ideal for driving and keeping.
Porsche built a good car in 1972 but never anticipated it lasting 47 years, with care it could be another 47…..
