This 2019 Porsche GT3 was built during the final year of 991.2 GT3 production and has been a local Bay Area car since new. Featuring over $36,000 in factory options, this GT3 was clearly set up for dual-purpose road and track use, with numerous options applicable to both. Painted in striking GT Silver over a black leather interior with alcantara steering wheel, dashboard and seat centers, this GT3’s color combination is about as classic as it gets. The original owner also specified a Bose Surround Sound system, seat heaters and a front lift system to make the car supremely usable in day to day driving. To also make the car fantastic on the track, the quick shifting 7-speed PDK transmission was selected along with the Chrono Package with Lap Trigger preparation and a set of Ceramic Composite brakes which offer fade free performance while lapping. With just 7,100 miles on the odometer at the time of inspection, this car is in fantastic overall condition and is ready to be enjoyed in any way the new owner desires. Included with the car is a full set of books and manuals as well as the original window sticker from when the car was new.

Das Fahrzeug im Detail

When Porsche debuted the 991 GT3, it was a massive departure from the previous generation. With an all-new motor, Porsche moved away from their tried and true motorsports-based Mezger engine which had been seen in all the previous GT3s, replacing it with a 3.8-liter unit featuring direct injection and able to spin to 9,000 RPM. The manual transmission was also gone, in its place, a mandatory 7-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox with paddle shifting. Although both of these features were implemented to carry on the mission of building the ultimate street/track 911, there was an outcry from enthusiasts. In early build cars, the new motor had a habit of breaking and the mandatory paddle shift transmission reduced the driver involvement people had come to expect out of a GT3. After 4 years of production, Porsche facelifted the GT3, creating what is known as the 991.2- this car featured a greatly altered engine, now displacing 4-liters and engineering lessons learned from the GT3R and Cup cars, this motor retained the 9,000RPM redline and was happy to visit it frequently, without the concerns of the previous car. The 7-speed PDK was still an option but was now joined by a 6-speed manual. Additionally, the aerodynamics of the body were changed, creating extra downforce and a greater ram-air effect into the engine while at speed. All of these changes combined to make a much more well-rounded GT3 and the 991.2 cars have earned their place in the pantheon of GT3s as one of the best ever built.
