Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Porsche Design – the design studio founded by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche in 1972 and known primarily for its high-end fashion accessories – Porsche announced a limited-edition variant of the 992-generation 911 Targa 4 GTS. The “Edition 50 Years Porsche Design” took the majority of its styling cues from Porsche Design’s first product – the 1972 Chronograph I timepiece – including its Black exterior finish and satin Platinum Targa bar to match the watch’s black dial and contrasting chrome details. Riding on staggered 20- and 21-inch 911 Turbo S wheels, also finished in satin Platinum, other exterior touches included “Porsche Design” graphics in contrasting grey along the doors, high-gloss Black-finished brake calipers, a rear “Porsche Design 50th Anniversary” badge, and a Black-finished “911” badge on the rear apron.
The understated, vintage theme continued inside with swathes of Black leather, Slate Grey stitching and seat belts, and classic Black and Cool Grey Sport-Tex seat inserts. The special edition was also generously outfitted with 18-way power adjustable Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with memory and the Sport Chrono Package as standard – the red seconds hand once again paying homage to the Chronograph I. „Porsche Design 50th Anniversary” logos embossed in the headrests and emblazoned on the aluminum door entry guards, as well as a silver numbered “911” plaque on the dash rounded out the unique details in the interior.
Limited to just 750 examples worldwide, this 2023 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS Edition 50 Years Porsche Design is identified as number 244 by its numbered dashboard plaque. The original window sticker shows that the Porsche was delivered new to the consignor via Porsche North Houston and lists a full complement of optional equipment including, but not limited to, a Burmester High-End Surround Sound System, LED-Matrix Headlights in Black including PDLS+, Lane Change Assist, and Illuminated Bespoke Door-Sill Guards in Black Brushed Aluminum. Showing merely 459 miles at the time of cataloging and protected with a partial PPF treatment, this investment-grade, limited edition 911 Targa 4 GTS would make a wonderful addition to any collection of highly desirable modern Porsches.
