Showing just 1,233 miles, this 2022 GT3 Touring is the second iteration of the Touring, based on the 992 generation of 911. Much like its predecessor, little is changed beyond the wing in the back but what makes this example unique is the nearly $84,000 in options including over $20,000 spent at Porsche’s Special Wishes Department. Finished in white, the simple color creates a striking backdrop for the black and carbon fiber accents found around the vehicle. The wheels are painted in a unique shade of Satin Dark Silver which gives them tremendous depth, and make the bright yellow brake calipers sitting behind them really pop. One of the nice little touches from the Special Wishes department is the GT3 lettering found along the front edge of the doors- the Matte Charcoal Metallic font is subtle but looks quite elegant against the white backdrop of the rest of the vehicle.
Moving inside the car is where the Special Wishes touches really show themselves. Open the door and you are struck by Bordeaux and Black leather on nearly every surface with Chalk gray stitching throughout. Some of the unique pieces from Special Wishes include Bordeaux leather-wrapped center console knee pads, as well as lower center console side panels and footwell panels to match. The Bordeaux leather continues on the underside of the dash and even into the air vents- making this a truly one-of-one interior specification. As this GT3 is a Touring, it makes sense to set up the interior with the intention of being a comfortable place to put miles on the car. In light of that, it has been outfitted with 18-way sport seats as well as a Bose Surround Sound System and ambient interior lighting.
Powering this GT3 is an updated version of the 4.0-liter Flat-6 which produces 503 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque and has a stratospheric 9,000 rpm redline. To keep the driver involved in the experience, a 6-speed manual transmission has been optioned with three perfectly spaced aluminum pedals in the footwell to make for seamless heel and toe downshifting. One of the major differences in the 992 GT3 is the addition of an unequal-length control-arm front suspension which was largely influenced by the 991 RSR race car. This allows for a stiffer front end and less dive under braking but without any sacrifice in comfort over the previous generation car.
The GT3 Touring will go down in history as one of the greatest cars produced by the brand thanks to its outstanding performance, docile road manners, and understated appearance. This example is particularly unique thanks to its long list of Special Wishes options, as well as the manual gearbox and low miles.
