In the engine section we find: six-cylinder boxer, hung behind the rear axle and air cooling.
To these traditional ingredients were added two KKK turbochargers (one per bank), a first for Porsche, and a highly advanced Bosch Motronic 5.2 injection.
All this on paper develops 408 horsepower of which the secret of his good work lay, above all, in a maximum torque of 540 Nm at 4,500 turns. But the best thing was that at only 2,500 turns, and had a good 440 Nm to play with the throttle at will, without making intensive use of the six-speed gearbox mounted.
