Starting as an engineering company, Porsche has always been about pushing the limits of what is possible and constant improvement. For over 60 years, they worked on refining the internal combustion engine, building engines that combined staggering performance with long-term durability, earning them countless racing titles and making Porsche the go-to sports car to drive every day. So when Porsche debuted their all-electric Taycan at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, it was met with mixed reviews. Based on the Mission-E concept from 2015, the Taycan was a beautifully sculpted shape with the body sitting down around the wheels and really moved the idea of what an electric car could look like forward. Once the Taycan began production in 2020, the skeptics were put to rest- the Turbo and Turbo S variants of the car remain some of the fastest accelerating cars on the road, and in typical Porsche fashion, the driving experience has been carefully dialed in to match the striking looks.
This 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo S was sold new at Porsche of Downtown Los Angeles in April 2021, and has been under the care of a single owner. Finished in Black over Black leather, this Taycan Turbo S shows just 9,395 miles at the time of cataloging and is believed to have a remaining factory warranty through April 2025. The black exterior paint is paired with High Gloss Black finish 21” wheels, which sit in front of massive Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes with bright yellow calipers. Glacier Blue LED Matrix headlights with PDLS+ are fitted in front, and in the rear, the “PORSCHE” light strip is also illuminated in Glacier Blue.
Although the Taycan is a four-door sedan, the interior feels very sportscar-like, when you are inside. You sit low in the car and in the driver’s seat, the cockpit wraps around you, with a waterfall center console to your right and a deep dashboard with an LCD screen positioned in front of you. This car is fitted with a heated GT Sport steering wheel, which feels great in the hands, and the heated feature is a welcome addition on cold mornings. In the rear, the 2+1 seating option was selected, adding a center seat to the normal 2-seat rear layout, meaning this Taycan can easily hold 5. Additionally, front seat ventilation and 4-zone climate control are fitted to ensure that you and your passengers stay a comfortable temperature regardless of the weather. A Burmester 3D High-End Surround Sound System was optioned which fits the interior of the car with a remarkable 21 speakers for sensational sound quality wherever you are sitting in the car.
The all-wheel drive Taycan Turbo is built on an innovative 800-volt architecture, which is roughly twice what is found in most other electric production cars. This means you are able to charge more quickly, with the ability to charge from 5% to 80% in roughly 25 minutes when paired to a compatible charger. Although that is all important, what is really exciting about the dual motor Taycan Turbo is the 616 horsepower on tap at the push of the accelerator, which can propel the car from 0-60 mph in less than 3 seconds and on to a top speed in excess of 160 mph. Everybody knows that electric cars are great when it comes to acceleration, but where the Taycan shines is in the driving dynamics. As Porsche has a reputation to uphold, engineers made sure that this was the best-driving electric car, bar none. With quick steering and a battery pack ensuring a low center of gravity, the Tayan feels more like a Cayman from behind the wheel than it does a Cayenne.
If you have wanted to see what the hype surrounding electric cars is all about, but you don’t want to give up exciting driving dynamics, the only choice is the Taycan. This Taycan Turbo has enormous performance that you can take advantage of on a daily basis and has been remarkably well kept, offering a nearly new experience, with a nice discount.
