A rare opportunity to acquire a truly special and meticulously built Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet – created as an authentic WTL tribute with uncompromising quality and correct period details.
This is a late European 1988 model from the iconic G-series, equipped with the highly sought-after G50 gearbox – renowned for its precise, modern shift feel compared to the earlier 915 transmission. The combination of the 3.2 engine, G50 gearbox, and widebody configuration makes these cars exceptionally desirable among enthusiasts and collectors.
The story behind the car makes it even more special. The owner’s ambition was to create the ultimate G50 widebody Cabriolet with a factory-correct appearance and driving experience. To achieve this, a well-maintained, rust-free “narrow-body” Carrera Cabriolet was used as the donor car before being sent to a professional body shop for a complete wide body conversion.
The conversion was carried out using steel Turbo fenders – just as Porsche originally did – and the quality of the workmanship was so high that Porsche issued a dedicated widebody certificate for the car. The result is a cohesive, highly correct, and extremely exclusive car with the iconic Turbo-look appearance that defined the era.
The car’s presence is further enhanced by specially commissioned 17-inch Braid wheels in the classic Fuchs design with elegant gold detailing, giving the car a perfectly period-correct, motorsport-inspired character.
Equipment and specification include:
- Electric convertible top
- G50 5-speed gearbox
- 12-way electrically adjustable comfort seats
- 40% limited-slip differential
- Short-shift kit
- Widebody / WTL conversion
- 17-inch Braid Fuchs wheels
- Steel Turbo-look bodywork
On the road, the car delivers exactly what one would expect from a late 3.2 Carrera – mechanical, analogue, and deeply engaging, yet more refined thanks to the G50 gearbox and late-production updates. The widebody setup gives the car tremendous road presence while fully preserving the classic air-cooled driving feel.
A charming detail is the registration plate: “88-911” – a nod to the car’s 1988 model year and the iconic 911 designation.
The car has recently been serviced and inspected by AutoTech Sport, comes with a fresh roadworthiness inspection (EU control) with no remarks, and is ready for its next owner.
