Porsche 911 Turbo Advent Calendar – Oakgreen Metallic, 1:43 scale
The 911 Turbo made its debut at the 1974 Paris Motor Show and redefined what a road-going sports car was capable of. Here, it is built in 24 steps as a 1:43-scale model with a metal body, assembled using snaps and screws instead of glue. It culminates in a sharp curve featuring an integrated sound module. The large-format companion book was created in collaboration with the Porsche Museum and traces the history of the Turbo from 1974 to the present.
Porsche 911 Turbo Advent Calendar – Oak Green Metallic, 1:43 scale
Paris, October 1974
At the Paris Motor Show, there was a 911 that had little in common with the previous 911 models. It featured wider fenders, a rear wing that was recognizable from across the street, and a turbocharged three-liter boxer engine. Turbocharging was something people knew from racing, not from the dealership. Porsche turned it into a production vehicle—and thus launched a line that continues to this day.
The Color
The 930 is usually remembered in Indian red or silver. That’s a later simplification. The color palette of the ’70s was different: shades of brown, ochre yellow, muted metallic greens. Oak Green Metallic belongs in this category and today looks much more contemporary than what it evolved into in the 1980s. For a model on a desk, this is the more interesting shade—calmer, less flashy, and it reflects light differently than a solid-color paint job.

24 doors, one diorama
Assembly involves snapping and screwing parts together, without glue or painting. The body is made of metal, not plastic. The end result is more than just a model on a pedestal: it’s a dynamic, steep curve with a built-in speaker that reproduces the original engine sound.
Even the packaging is well thought out. The 24 boxes are made of cardboard and are designed as reversible boxes—the front and back each feature their own large-format design.

The companion book
A large-format publication produced in collaboration with the Porsche Museum. It chronicles the construction and traces the evolution of the 911 Turbo from 1974 to the present. Not just an insert, but an integral part of the product.
