A 911 from 1976 couldn't look more beautiful....

There are simply vehicles that have the so-called WOW effect. By this we don't just mean the model per se, but much more its appearance at first glance, which can be characterized by an exterior color, a decorative element or even rims. Something that you like so much at first glance that you want to look at it a little longer, or put more simply - something that you want to have.

The vehicle in detail

This is certainly not the exception in the 911 world and we are not the only ones - and yet not every 911 is equally desirable. Nor is every air-cooled car per se. For example, we can't do much with a Targa or a Cabrio and we admit it, we're not exactly fans of boring exterior colors like silver or black...

...and so it's certainly no surprise that we were taken with the following 911, which has exactly this WOW effect, thanks to the special exterior color 944-9-3 "Platinium Diamond Metallic".

Not just a visual highlight, as this color perfectly matches the chrome elements on the vehicle, but also its rarity offers the appeal here - this color was first available from 1975, as it was only designed for the "Signature 911S" special model at the time. Later, it was also available for the more exclusive 911s, such as the 3.0 Carrera, which we will come to in a moment. The regular 911s were rarely delivered in this color, as Porsche charged a hefty surcharge for it at the time.

We particularly liked this color because, together with the chrome elements, it makes the G model look particularly classic, which is ultimately also the case here with the 1976 model year. A rather early G model, which is still considered a true 911 for collectors and enthusiasts, because this vehicle still has a 911 chassis number and not already the WP0ZZZ.... which was then introduced from 1979.

The special thing about this vehicle is its 3.0 Carrera look. The 911 3.0 Carrera was initially unrecognized for a long time as the link between the coveted Carrera 2.7 RS and the legendary 930 Turbo. Today, however, it is recognized as a true Porsche icon and rarity, as the look is strongly reminiscent of a very early 911 with the chrome elements and yet offers the sporty appearance of a late G-model, together with the Fuchs rims, front spoiler and the SC/Carrera wide body.

We are offering here a recreation that is identical to the original down to the smallest detail, which is now traded in this condition for well over CHF 100,000 as a sought-after coupé version.

This vehicle here is originally a Porsche 911 2.7 from 1976, which now has a 3.0 liter engine from the 911 SC with 204 hp (930/10). This conversion took place in 1991 and was also entered in the registration document, with the corresponding engine number, displacement of 2993cc and around 200 hp.

The original color "Platinium Diamond Metallic" with the color code 944-9-3 was retained. In addition, the optional and original 5-speed gearbox as well as the speedometer display up to 300 kph!

Additionally installed as on the 3.0 Carrera: Larger headlight washer nozzles, chrome elements and hinged side windows (original), Carrera front spoiler, Carrera lettering, Carrera-width bodywork made of sheet metal, 15″ rims in Fuchs design, 3.0 Carrera manual.

The result is a timelessly beautiful 911 that attracts everyone's attention, and not because it feels like yet another turbo-wide 911 with a huge spoiler and an aggressive exhaust system. NO, because it is bursting with timeless beauty and elegance, and you don't even know the best part...

...technically, this 911 is absolutely perfect. The engine and gearbox were completely overhauled around 20,000 km ago by a recognized Porsche specialist from western Switzerland. The vehicle has always been carefully cared for and maintained, which is why receipts from the last 20 years total around CHF 60,000.

As you can see, this is not just any rebuilt 911, but an absolute collector's item that is now looking for a beautiful new home.

For these reasons, we are pleased to be able to offer you this gem.
