Porsche 911

Targa, 1975

Highlights

  • Belgian car - ex D' Ieteren
  • Optional factory frog-eye lights
  • Very rare and beautiful original color combination

We are delighted to offer this beautiful 1975 911 Targa 2.7. This Targa was delivered on 29/04/1975 by D’Ieteren Belgium to its first owner. The Belgian owner kept it for 34 years, after which it passed to the current owner, also Belgian. During this time, the engine (including all components) and gearbox were completely rebuilt by professionals.

The car was delivered in the stunning color combination Copper Brown Metallic with a brown interior and beautiful “Patina” seats. This color combination was rare on a Targa. Today, the car still retains its original color scheme and with its original wheels. The optional “frog-eye” headlights were installed at the factory. The car comes with a story, including the original correspondence and photos between the first owner and Porsche Centre Brussels. The full mileage history is known.

The vehicle in detail

The Porsche 911 Targa is one of the most iconic variants within the 911 family, a perfect balance between coupé and convertible. The concept originated in the mid-1960s, when new safety regulations in the United States threatened to bring an end to traditional convertibles. Porsche came up with an innovative solution: a removable roof panel combined with a fixed stainless-steel roll bar for added safety. Thus, in 1965, the first 911 Targa was introduced, named after the famous Targa Florio road race in Sicily, where Porsche had celebrated numerous victories over the years.

The 1970s marked an important era for the Targa. The 2.7-liter engine, introduced in 1974, combined refinement with power, while the car’s unique design and everyday usability kept it popular among sports car enthusiasts. The Targa offered the best of both worlds: the open-air feeling of a convertible, with the safety and elegance of a coupé.
