Model history
The Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 was produced from 1976 to 1977 and was an important model variant in the history of the 911. It represented a transitional phase between the earlier 2.7-liter models and the later SC models. The Carrera 3.0's 3.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine was a further development of the 911 Turbo engine, but without a turbocharger. With an output of 200 hp, it offered impressive performance and improved durability thanks to its aluminum engine block. The Carrera 3.0 combined classic 911 design features with technical sophistication and was very popular with enthusiasts and collectors alike.
