Appearing at the end of the “G-body” era, the Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 equipped with the Getrag G50 transmission represents the technical culmination of the line before the arrival of the 964.
This American-made model has stood the test of time, retaining its distinctive aesthetic features, such as its characteristic bumper guards, while offering legendary mechanical robustness. Its Targa configuration, with its iconic roll bar, allows drivers to enjoy the sound of the Flat-6 engine in the open air, a pleasure enhanced by the precise and modern steering of its transmission, introduced in 1987.
This example was delivered new in the United States on June 30, 1987, to the Porsche Ron Fondren dealership in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The car was imported to Germany in 2018. This 911 arrived in France in 2022. The current owner purchased it in 2022. We have its maintenance history since 1987 and its stamped maintenance log until 2000.
Condition:
This 911 is in very good overall condition.
The bodywork is in very good condition. The alignment and adjustments are good. The white “Grand Prix” paintwork is smooth and has a beautiful depth. The wheels are in fairly good condition. The headlight lenses have no particular defects. The targa roof is watertight and functional. Aesthetically, it has been reconfigured with European headlights and bumpers to make it more elegant.
Inside, the burgundy imitation leather seats are well preserved. The dashboard has no particular defects. The steering wheel is in good condition. The instruments are functional.
The 3.2 flat-6 starts normally and revs well. The G50 5-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and pleasantly. Handling is very good.
