Chassis 1528, a matching-numbers example, was first registered new in Germany in 1973. This exceptional RS Lightweight spent its first sixteen years on German roads before being imported to the UK by Autofarm in 1989 via Guernsey. Autofarm retained ownership until 1995, when the car was acquired by Fred Hampton, the distinguished former President of Porsche Club GB. A passionate enthusiast, Hampton enjoyed driving and preserving the car until 2000.
That same year, the RS was purchased by Michael Chadwick, a respected Porsche collector well known within marque circles. During his sixteen-year custodianship, Chadwick maintained the car meticulously, ensuring annual servicing by both Porsche main dealers and renowned independent specialists.
In 2016, the car was sold to a private collector, from whom we have since acquired it. Beautifully maintained throughout its life, this Carrera RS Lightweight represents a truly remarkable example with exceptional provenance.
The car has been thoroughly inspected by marque experts Renn Sport, who have confirmed its originality. It is accompanied by an extensive history file, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and the correct tools and handbooks. Factory-fitted optional equipment includes a Heated Rear Window, 40% Locking Differential, and Fixed Rear Spoiler.
We believe this to be one of the finest Carrera 2.7 RS Lightweights in existence — a genuine collector’s car and an icon of Porsche’s motorsport heritage.
