Chassis number 1333, presented here, stands out thanks to its original Rose Red (024) paintwork, a color produced in only four examples worldwide, as well as for the exceptional quality of its restoration carried out by RV Classic.
Originally delivered in Germany, this 2.7 RS Touring (M472) was supplied on July 1, 1973 by Porsche Centre Hamburg. It remained with its first owner until 1980, before being exported to England. Its sole British owner kept the car for ten years, during which time he decided to partially restore it, changing its color and repainting it blue. At that time, it carried the registration RSR 889.
The car was later seen in June 1998 at the 25th anniversary of the 911 2.7 Carrera RS at the Dijon-Prenois circuit, still in the same configuration. Some time later, it passed into the hands of its first French owner.
At the end of 2001, Philippe Aunay, Porsche collector and President of the Porsche Club France, acquired the car. It was then registered 911 TY 76 in February 2002. The vehicle remained within the Aunay family until 2016, before being sold to its most recent owner.
A comprehensive restoration program was then undertaken, with the objective of returning the car to its original Touring specification. Without question, this stands as one of the most thorough restorations ever carried out in France on a genuine Porsche 911 2.7 Carrera RS chassis.
The owner wisely entrusted this work to RV Classic, widely recognized specialists in the restoration of Porsche RS and RSR models.
The work carried out is as impressive as it is fascinating for any mechanical enthusiast. The body shell was completely stripped bare, removed of all mechanical components, wiring, fittings, and panels. To ensure a restoration carried out to the highest standards, RV Classic subjected the shell to a cathodic dip coating process. This technique applies an epoxy paint electrochemically to the entire body shell—including all cavities—by immersing it in a dedicated bath. The restoration continued with a perfectly executed full repaint in its original shade: Rose Red (Fraise). A fully coherent choice, considering that only four examples left the factory in this color.
All four wings were replaced with brand-new Porsche-supplied panels. The same level of rigor was applied to the rebuild of the engine, suspension, electrical system, and interior trim. All components refitted to the car were either restored or replaced with new parts.
Kobus Cantraine, a highly respected expert in authenticating this type of example, inspected chassis number 1333 at the request of Mecanicus. His conclusions confirm a correct, accident-free 2.7 Carrera RS body shell, along with certified matching chassis stampings and the hidden factory number present on the vehicle.
