The car underwent an earlier restoration in Italy, supported by photographs included in the file. Today, the Ossi Blue paint retains a deep shine and presents well overall, with a patina consistent with age. Some previous repairs are visible on the floor pan and side sills — work carried out by a respected Belgian classic car specialist. These areas remain solid and presentable, though future care or cosmetic refinishing may be considered over the long term, particularly for an owner seeking concours-level finish. As it stands, the car is an ideal candidate for spirited driving and weekend enjoyment.
Inside, the beige interior is welcoming and well-preserved. The Recaro Sport Seats are not only a rare find but also offer excellent support on the road. Carpets have been replaced and are in superb condition. The rest of the cabin feels authentic, with light patina that adds to the car’s character without detracting from its overall quality. It’s a warm, period-correct environment that speaks to Porsche’s elegant 1960s design language.
Mechanically, this 911E is in excellent shape. The original, matching-numbers 2.0L engine has been fully rebuilt in 2020 and is completely dry. The mechanical fuel injection (MFI) system has also been refurbished and correctly calibrated. During the rebuild high compression S pistons were installed and it really offers a nice extra push. The engine starts effortlessly, idles smoothly, and offers a rewarding drive. The matching gearbox has been rebuilt as well, ensuring crisp and precise gear changes. The car recently passed the Belgian technical inspection with ease.
Early 911s offer a unique driving experience — light, communicative, and pure. Finished in one of the most attractive period colors – one of only 28 delivered in this color ! – and benefitting from recent major mechanical work, this 911E is a superb example for someone seeking a sorted, usable classic with room for future refinement if desired.
