Under his direction, Manfred Rugen overhauled the 911 S engine and gearbox, among other things, in the spring. The gearbox was given the so-called Nürburgring transmission ratio for use in historic motorsport. The documents and invoices for all conversions are available.
Knut Kohlmorgen won the Porsche Classic Car Trophy in 2001, 2002 and many other races in the following years.
This 911 S is unrestored in the best sense of the word and has only been serviced by specialists. Manfred Rugen, Hajo Klein and Wolfgang Reile have been responsible for this vehicle over the last 20 years. The last comprehensive service was carried out at the Porsche Center Bremen in 2022.
This special 911 is waiting for its next outing. Whether on the race track or the country road. With an overhauled gearbox and the engine rebuilt by Manfred Rugen, it is ready for many more emotional success stories.
Road approval and the H-certificate have also been issued. The car has been set up in such a way that it can also be used as a classic car on the road. Other original documents and certificates, as well as the registration papers and racing certificates, are part of the vehicle.
The possibilities are many and varied, including the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix Historic Race Cup, historic touring cars such as the HTGT Dunlop Trophy, GT Cup, Spa 6 Hours, Le Mans Classic, Goodwood, Tour Auto, etc.
The newly upholstered sports seats in the original delivered combination of artificial leather and the Pepita fabric center panel, together with the original steering wheel and carpets, allow the sporty vehicle interior to be restored to its original condition,
Conclusion: This Porsche 911 works car with a successful racing history is already a contemporary witness to Porsche history due to its use as a personal vehicle for training purposes by racing driver Vic Elford. As a potential road-legal racing vehicle, the car is suitable for historic races to meet the requirements of ambitious drivers who want to continue the success story, as well as for lovers of authentic coffee racers. This is a special opportunity to acquire such a vehicle with these characteristics and possibilities, not least because of the legendary engine built by Manfred Rugen.

According to the previous owner Knut Kohlmorgen, this car has a very special history.
" The Porsche 911S was built in 1967 and was used by Porsche AG as a works vehicle for one year. Among other things, it served as one of three Polo Red training cars for the 28th Coupe des Alpes in 1967, driven by Vic Elford. Two of the three Polo Red training cars were destroyed, but our 911S remained undamaged."
The vehicle was identified at a race in Spa in 2001 by Paddy O'Grady, who was a works racing mechanic at the time. He had photos of the three training cars and was able to identify the vehicle by means of special holes under the dashboard on the passenger side. (Fastenings for the additional instruments).
