1968 Porsche 911 S
The Porsche 911 requires little introduction. It is more than a classic-it has become an immortal design icon, still produced today as the very definition of the ultimate all-round sports car. Among the early iterations, the Porsche 911 S remains the most coveted. Limited production numbers, combined with a number of subtle visual traits unique to the model year, render the 1968 series particularly distinctive.
The S variant also introduced notable mechanical enhancements: ventilated disc brakes, Koni shock absorbers, and-most importantly-160 horsepower from the air-cooled 2-litre flat-six engine.
This car was originally European and was long believed to be a 911 L. Only when the highly regarded Danish Porsche specialist Kim Clausen acquired the car and disassembled it did the chassis number emerge, revealing its true identity as a 911 S produced in April 1968 and finished in colour code 6804 Hellelfenbein (Light Ivory).
