In 2014, the vehicle was finally sold to its current owner in Germany. Since then, the owner has not registered the car for regular use but has driven it exclusively with a 07 license plate. Nevertheless, all German TÜV documents are available to register the vehicle under the new owner’s name.
To this day, the 911 remains in an exceptionally original condition. It is a matching-numbers vehicle that has retained its authenticity over the years. Only a few areas have been carefully repainted without altering the original character.
After being acquired in 2014, the vehicle underwent extensive technical restoration. The entire chassis was removed, cleaned, overhauled, or replaced as needed. The engine and transmission were also removed and thoroughly overhauled. All lines were replaced or refurbished, so that the car is now in very good technical condition while retaining its original substance.
A truly unique feature is the vehicle’s documentation. Every single invoice from the original order and new car invoice from 1971 to the present day is available. All records from its time in the U.S. as well as all documents from Germany are complete. Even the original Porsche service booklet from 1971, along with contemporary documents and maps, are part of this extraordinary history.
Such complete and traceable documentation spanning decades is extremely rare for a vehicle from 1971. Combined with its long history in California, its original condition, and the comprehensive technical overhaul, this presents a rare opportunity to acquire a Porsche 911 S Targa that sets the standard in terms of history, authenticity, and condition.
