More than 50 years later, we present a Porsche 2.7 from 1974, which received its last ClassicData certificate in July 2025 with a mileage of 87,870 km and a grade of 1- (1.25). The slim, elegant coupé with almost identical dimensions to the so-called Ur-Elfer could have rolled off the production line last year. Its condition is breathtakingly good, its appearance in combination with the chrome parts used in this model year and its "light yellow" color is dewy. Even from a distance, it looks as light as it is to drive. No frills, no wide tires, no spoilers.
This exceptional coupé from the early G-model series was first delivered in Hamburg and has a complete owner and maintenance history with exemplary character. Even the most discerning potential buyer can study the uninterrupted documentation of the last five decades and fully understand why this coupé is the way it is - a contemporary witness in perfect and unused overall condition.
A few thousand kilometers ago, this Porsche was fitted with an engine rebuilt by Joos Sportwagen, which was evidently created in one of this gifted engine builder's finest hours. The power output is registered at 175 hp. However, we know 3.0 SCs with 204 nominal hp, which seem tired in direct comparison to this 2.7S. If we have the opportunity, we'll give it a test run for our own peace of mind and to find out why this engine of all engines impressed us so subjectively. That's why the power rating at the top says "175 hp at least!". Without promising too much - we expect significantly more.
We have two bulging folders with all documents, all TÜV reports (from 1976 to the present day) and all invoices from the last few decades. Three classicdata reports from the last 15 years basically repeat exactly what we describe here. A score of 1.25 is an announcement, we are aware of that. At the same time, we are sure that you will not be disappointed when you take a closer look at this bright yellow gem.
You are welcome to visit us by appointment. We look forward to seeing you and warmly recommend this Porsche to the most discerning. It is one of the best 911 2.7s you will find on the market. At least.
See you soon
