One owner since new and 65tkm on the clock! These are very seldom figures for a Porsche 944 dating to 1984. The 944 model range was the entry level Porsche and very reliable at that, making it possible to commute all everyday driving with the cars. Most cars have been driven long milages which states for the quality these cars are known for.
Porsche built the 944 models from 1982 until 1992, with different variants along the way. The first series 1982-1985 shared the interior with the 924 model range. The 2,5L inline four engine with Bosch Motronic injection is exceptionally reliable and easy to use. Our car was bought new in Holland 6 DEC 1983 (1984 model) from Grand Garage Robert Dizier, the car then moved to France when the owner studied in the Paris area. The yellow head- and fog lights date from the French time. When the studies had been finished, the car then arrived in Finland 1986. When the car was serviced in Finland by the local Porsche importer 4.8.1986 it had already accounted for most of the kilometers with the trip standing at 40397km.
During the next 20 years the car was pampered and only occasionally enjoyed by the owner. It has always been garaged and the paintwork is in immaculate condition. During the way there was one minor dent outside of the Israeli Embassy in Helsinki some 20 years ago when someone slowly reversed in the front bumper scratching it enough for a bumper respray. Otherwise there are no additional events during the lifespan of the car. The car is running 15” Rial wheels dating to the 80´s and the original wheels are also with the car.
There is a vintage car registration, which in Finland changes the MOT interval to every fourth year. All earlier MOT documents are present. The interior has the famous pinstripe seat inserts alongside black vinyl and is in perfect condition.
The original documentation, service book, all tools, spare tyre, jack, air compressor, targa roof bag, Alpine radio and a fire extinguisher dating to 1983 are still with the car. The car is now extensively serviced and is then ready for the next caretaker.
