Some 911s are simply a fun classic. And some have been so well-maintained that you’re right to start over. This Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Targa falls into that latter category. Accident-free, originally delivered in Germany, and fully restored to mint condition. This isn’t a “refurbished project,” but a 964 that has been completely rebuilt with many new parts, with one goal: to drive as it should and look the way you secretly hope every 964 should.
The car has been stripped down to the metal and then repainted in the original color: Paint to Sample Flower Yellow (Bluetengelb). It’s exactly the kind of color you either don’t dare to choose, or you choose consciously because you know what you’re doing. It suits the 964: unique, pure, and timeless all at once. And because this is a 1991 Carrera 2 Targa, you’re also talking about a rare base: one of 730. How many of these were delivered to PTS is unknown, and that speaks volumes about how special this build is.
