Porsche 964 Carrera 2

Coupé, 1991

Highlights

  • 315hp 3.8l engine, torque and sound optimized
  • Amazing RS style steering feel
  • Shortened gearing for maximum thrust

The vehicle shown serves as a reference for our 964 R+ builds – a modern GT-car “killer” in a clean, timeless shape, without the loud visuals or the modern electronic complexity.

We offer the exclusive opportunity to commission a tailor-made 964 R+ build with a custom exterior color and a refreshed leather interior in your chosen tone. Power comes from a 3.8l naturally aspirated 315 HP engine, intentionally kept on stock Motronic engine management for maximum long-term serviceability. The result is maintainable worldwide at any OEM-trained service center or experienced independent specialist.

The vehicle in detail

The focus is simple: sharper chassis, stronger feel, shorter gearing, and meaningful weight savings. Built for alpine pass hunting and sporty B-road blasts, while still being a proper classic you can live with.
Highlights

  • 3.8l NA 315 HP, stock Motronic, worldwide maintainability
  • Custom suspension setup with RS-style bushings and custom PRINZIP R KW V3 dampers/springs
  • Improved steering feel and bolt-action style shifting
  • Revised and shortened gearbox for fast, engaging roads coupled with organic sports clutch.
  • Weight savings via LiFePO4 battery (e.g. LiteBlox) and lightweight wheels.

A 964 R+ build is our answer to one question: how do you build a classic that with the right driver can embarrass modern GT machinery on real (alpine) roads, without turning it into a temperamental race car or a tech-heavy one-off?
We start with a 964 donor platform and build around a clear philosophy:

  • Keep the core architecture honest and serviceable
  • Upgrade feel and performance where it actually matters
  • Make it fast on the roads people really drive + increase the perceived feeling of speed for the driver vs. modern cushioned electronically controlled cars

Engine and reliability

This build uses a 3.8l naturally aspirated engine producing around 315 HP. The key decision is to retain stock Motronic engine management. That means familiar diagnostics, predictable maintenance, and worldwide serviceability. Just a strong, responsive engine that any competent specialist for this platform can understand and support long-term.
Chassis and handlingThe biggest transformation happens underneath and largely unseen. We replace the vague and tired feeling many classics develop with a composed, modern, confidence-inspiring setup:

  • RS-style bushing philosophy for clarity and precision
  • KW V3 dampers with our custom spring and damping setup
  • Additional suspension and chassis components selected to match the intended use

The result is a car that turns in with intent, stays settled over imperfect surfaces, and builds trust at speed. Steering feel is also improved through an upgraded steering rack.

Gearbox, shifting feel, and gearing

We revise the gearbox and shorten the gearing so the car feels awake and urgent where it counts: second, third and fourth gear on fast B-roads and alpine passes. Shifting is set up for a crisp, mechanical, bolt-action feel, so every upshift becomes part of the experience.

Weight savings and response

We remove weight where it makes sense without compromising usability:

  • LiFePO4 lightweight battery (e.g. LiteBlox)
  • Lightweight wheels depending on your style goal: Cargraphic 18″ for a more modern look, or Fuchs 17″ for a more classic direction, Original 17” Cup for originality

Less mass improves everything: response, braking, steering clarity, and the way the car changes direction.

Exterior and interior – custom, but coherent

You choose the exterior color direction and the interior leather tone. The goal is not “loud”. The goal is coherence. We refresh and refine the cabin so it feels tight, clean and high-quality again, while preserving the classic atmosphere. This is a driver’s car, finished like a tailored object.
If you want a classic that drives like a modern weapon on real roads, but stays serviceable, usable, and timeless, a 964 R+ build is exactly that.

The mentioned price inkl. German VAT is a well put together package and is indicative of a total investment incl. a donor car which you need to legally own and bring to us for modification.

Build scope, timeline, and final specification are defined after a short consultation based on your donor, your style direction, and your intended use.

Possibilities to increase power, go crazy with even more leather in the interior or even to turbocharge this car are all an option – of course as extras.

If the R+ build package resonatest – feel free to contact us for your consultation.
