Model history

The Porsche 911 of the 964 series was produced from 1989 to 1994 and marked an important step in the development of the 911. With a design by Benjamin Dimson, the car was given a modernized look, which stood out from its predecessor mainly due to its harmoniously integrated bumpers. Technically, the 964 brought numerous innovations, including the option of ordering it with all-wheel drive or the automatic Tiptronic transmission for the first time. Internally designated as "Type 964," the models were officially offered as the Carrera 2 and Carrera 4. Today, the series is considered a link between the classic and modern generations of the 911 and is very popular with collectors.
