In this auction, a Porsche Carrera 2 of the 964 series from the year of construction 1990 can be purchased, which was originally registered in June 1990 in the USA – more precisely in Beverly Hills – for the first time. The import to Germany took place in 2017, and since then the sports car from Zuffenhausen has been part of a vehicle collection. According to the seller, this sports car with the VIN WP0CB296XLS470412 probably has 2 owners. The history of the 964 can be roughly traced back via an existing checkbook, which was partially kept. The so-called matching numbers are assumed, 2 vehicle keys still exist for the car and the general inspection will be carried out again before the vehicle is handed over to the future owner.
In current ownership, the red cabriolet body of this Porsche 911 is accident-free – the seller is not aware of any repainting, as external defects he states signs of wear over the years and with the mileage, as well as unprofessionally repaired stone chips on the front. Modifications deviating from the original condition cannot be found on the exterior, furthermore there are no color differences in the paintwork and there is apparently no corrosion on this 964. Neither cracks nor gross scuff marks can be found on the black fabric top – the plastic rear window is also free of defects.
Continental tires from the production year 2017 are mounted on original 7-spoke Porsche rims. In terms of profile, the tires still have enough material, the aluminum rims have a few curb scratches. The current owner states that the brakes are in good condition, and there are no modifications to the chassis.
Full leather seats in beige color – which are somewhat faded and worn – can be seen in the interior of the 964 Cabriolet. The leather on the driver's seat in particular is porous in some places. Although the entire interior can be attested to be in a condition that corresponds to the mileage, all interior parts are present and therefore no missing parts can be listed. Equipment features include power steering, central locking, electric windows, electric seats, heated seats, cruise control and a Sony accessory radio on board this 911. The soft top and all the controls in the interior work perfectly.
The speedometer display has already been converted to EU specifications, the odometer reading of 126,220 was not changed: That is why it is now the equivalent of 203,140 kilometers, accompanied by a partially kept checkbook, which this 911 Cabriolet has covered since its delivery until today. A CarFax is also available. All gauges in the instrument cluster are in perfect condition.
The boxer engine in the rear produces 250 hp from a displacement of 3.6 liters. This power is transmitted to the rear axle via a 5-speed manual transmission. In July 2022, the Porsche underwent a final service, and the following parts were new: fuel lines, brakes (vacuum lines), convertible top mechanism (microswitch), bearing bush and slider, oil pressure switch, tie rod ends at the front, brake hoses at the front and rear. This was followed by an axle measurement. Apart from a defective air conditioning system, the seller is not aware of any technical defects.
In view of the overall mileage, the condition of the underbody of this convertible can be described as good. A Porsche 911 of the 964 generation offers the classic, compact 911 shape with sensible improvements such as airbags and power steering. For fresh air fans of the brand, of course, only a convertible comes into question. This Porsche 964 convertible in classic red with a beige interior could represent a decision: due to the repair work carried out recently, many parts have been renewed. In addition, the history of this 911 can be traced very well through the present CarFax and checkbook.
There are a few documents with this vehicle, all of which are handed over together with the purchase.
