The CS version was developed as a lighter, more focused evolution of the 968, with a stronger emphasis on driving performance. As standard, cars were delivered without air conditioning, electric windows or radio—although these options, as seen on this example, could still be specified. They were also homologated as two-seaters and could be equipped with bucket seats. All CS models came with 17-inch Cup 1 wheels.
The history of this car is fully documented from new, including the original purchase invoice. It was delivered in Barcelona in April 1994 (although it was produced in February 1993—years that were economically challenging in Spain, meaning special models like this often took time to sell).
This means the car spent about a year at the dealership before its first owner reserved it in January 1994. She requested a color change prior to delivery: originally black, the car was repainted at the official Porsche dealership in Zona Franca to Amaranth Violet, a factory color available for the 968 at the time. The repaint cost was significant, equivalent to approximately half a million pesetas.
The car remained in Girona until 2016. After a brief ownership period, it moved to Madrid, where it was acquired by a well-known Porsche enthusiast specializing in front-engine models. He carried out a timing belt service before the car was acquired in 2021 by its current owner, a partner at Taredblau. Since then, it has been kept in a private garage, always under a cover and with a battery maintainer.
The vehicle comes with a complete service history, including official Porsche centers, Baltasar invoices, and recent maintenance carried out at Taredblau. The timing belt was replaced at 172,000 km, and recent servicing has been limited to routine maintenance such as oil and filter changes. The car runs perfectly and has been used occasionally for enthusiast drives in recent years.
Originally homologated as a two-seater, rear seats were later installed. Recently, however, correct original CS bucket seats have been fitted, fully restored (repainted shells and reupholstered by Royal Restauración, one of Madrid’s most renowned upholstery specialists). The car can also be purchased with standard seats trimmed in black fabric (see gallery).
The vehicle is now classified as a historic vehicle under the new 2024 regulations, meaning it is not subject to driving restrictions in Madrid.
It was also featured in a test by 9once Plus magazine, included in the documentation, along with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) issued by Porsche Ibérica.
