Model history

The Porsche 987 is the second generation of the Boxster and Cayman and was launched in 2005. It is based on a revised mid-engine concept and shares many components with the 911 (997). The 987 offers sporty driving dynamics combined with modern technology and clean lines. It was replaced by the Porsche 981 in 2012.
