This iteration of the GT3 RS is from the 991 .2 generation which in turn brings a number of differences from a .1 car but what undoubtedly strikes you first when you approach is the color. Lizard Green which was the launch color for this model is a striking but extremely well-fitting color. In contrast, the car gets rims in a gold finish and just behind it are PCCB brakes with yellow calipers. The exterior is lined with carbon fiber details such as the canards over the front and a small ‘gurney flap’ over the tailgate. Just below there is a diffuser from Akrapovic which hides an exhaust system from the same brand. The side profile is broken by a black GT3 RS decal which nicely ties together the somewhat wild exterior. The decal in the windshield reads Manthey Racing and for those who know their Porsches, the name is familiar. Based at the Nürburgring itself, Manthey is now part of Porsche themselves and largely handles the company’s racing side but also specializes in making fast Porsches REALLY fast. This car is equipped with updated brake pads and brake hoses but also Manthey’s recommended wheel angles for optimal performance on the track along with a set of KW dampers from dampers.
The seriousness of the moment descends upon the driver when you open the driver’s door. The interior is as serious as the exterior with bucket seats and a half-cage. Much in the same colorful choice as the exterior. The inserts in the bucket seats and seams as well as both the belts and half-cage are in the green color. The driver’s environment is recognizable if a little more focused with an Alcantara steering wheel and gear selector. The five iconic analog meters focus on the most necessary information. Continuously maintained according to Porsche’s own recommendations and with a mere 2020 miles indicated from new.
This is a scalpel in a box of butter knives. A nail gun in a toolbox of tired hammers.
