This iteration of the GT3 RS is from the 991 .2 generation, which in turn brings a number of differences from a .1 car, but the recipe has been maintained. The exterior makes no excuses and is more reminiscent of a CUP car in its solid white suit. In contrast, the car gets rims in signed BBS and of model FI-R. One of BBS’s absolute lightest rims and in a design that is very similar to the original rim in design. The rear is dominated, like all RS cars, by its wing and just below a diffuser that hides an exhaust system that has received some breathing help thanks to its 200cell race cats. The side profile is broken by a black GT3 RS decal that nicely ties together the somewhat wild exterior. A step back and you are struck by how aggressively the car sits over its sticky Michelin tires. Something we partly have Manthey Racing to thank for.
Anyone who knows their Porsches will be familiar with the name. With its base on the Nürburgring itself, Manthey is now part of Porsche themselves and largely handles the company’s racing but also specializes in making fast Porsches REALLY fast. This car is equipped with updated brake pads and steel-spun brake hoses but also Manthey’s recommended wheel angles together with a chassis that is part developed by Manthey together with KW for optimal performance on the track. Cornerweighted with 90kg driver.
The seriousness of the moment descends upon the driver when you open the driver’s door. The interior is as serious as the exterior with bucket seats and a half-cage. The driver’s environment is recognizable if a little more focused with an Alcantara steering wheel and six-point belts for both driver and passenger. The five iconic analog meters focus on the most necessary information. Continuously maintained according to Porsche’s own recommendations and with a mere 2931 miles indicated from new. Full PPF on the entire car and ceramic protection on top of this. Original rims and a number of other paraphernalia accompany the car upon purchase.
This is a scalpel in a box of butter knives. A nail gun in a toolbox of tired hammers. Behind the wheel of a Manthey-puttied 3 RS, there are no excuses.
