This GT3, produced between 2012 and 2015, marks a break with tradition. No manual transmission, but a lightning-fast 7-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) transmission. No concession to experience, as shift times are razor-sharp: 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The PDK makes it faster than ever, on the track and on paper.
The rear-wheel steering, a first for the GT3 line, actively adapts to speed: up to 50 km/h, the rear wheels steer opposite to the front wheels for a shorter turning circle, above that just the same for maximum stability. This system, together with the adaptive PASM suspension and rigid aluminium components, makes the 911 GT3 a surgical precision instrument.
In the cockpit, simplicity reigns: alcantara, carbon. No excess, just necessity. The rev counter central, as it should be. Every sound, every vibration, filtered through engineering and passion, reminds the driver that this is not a car, but an experience.
