Performance hybridization significantly improves acceleration. The previous model covered 14.5 meters in 2.5 seconds. The new GTS with T-Hybrid covers 21.5 meters in the same time, giving it a 7-meter advantage.
The Porsche 911 chassis has been considered the benchmark among sports cars for generations. With the new 911, Porsche unleashes its full potential for driving dynamics and driving pleasure. Despite, or perhaps because of, the innovative new technologies, the new 911 remains a true 911: a sports car that feels at home in everyday traffic as well as on the racetrack. Compared to the previous models, the new 911 GTS models not only feature more extensive standard equipment but also further developed options that enhance both driving performance and everyday usability.
The PASM sports suspension (-10 mm) is included as standard for the 911 Carrera GTS models. PASM is optionally available without lowering and without auxiliary springs on the rear axle. With stiffer springs, modified dampers and stabilizers, and a new damper control system, the PASM sport suspension further enhances driving dynamics. Although the suspension elements are stiffer, a high level of everyday comfort is maintained, thanks in particular to the PASM damper technology.
The rear axle springs are equipped with a auxiliary spring as standard. This additional spring keeps the main spring under tension during compression and, combined with the particularly performance-oriented design of the sport suspension, ensures that the full suspension travel remains available. This offers the advantage that the standard springs retain their original tension, even under maximum load, which increases vehicle control. This results in a longer road contact time during highly dynamic driving during rebound, allowing for better transmission of both longitudinal and lateral forces.
For the first time, the new GTS models are equipped with rear axle steering as standard. This system enhances both performance and everyday usability. Depending on the driving speed, the rear wheels steer up to two degrees in either the opposite or the same direction as the front axle. This makes the 911 even more agile in corners and facilitates maneuvering in city traffic thanks to a smaller turning circle. At higher speeds, the system increases driving stability, for example, when changing lanes.
