Generation 992. The eighth and completely new 911 generation (internally type 992) was unveiled at the LA Auto Show in America at the end of 2018 and was available from the beginning of 2019. Compared to the previous generation, the car has grown in length by 20 mm and in height by 5 mm, while maintaining the same wheelbase. However, the track width has increased by 40 mm. In addition, the classic door handles have been replaced with (electrically) folding door handles, which improve aerodynamics, and a continuous light strip has been added to the rear. Another striking feature is the width and height of the mounted wheels. In addition, the rear wheels are now 1 inch larger than the front wheels. Inside, the difference compared to the 991 is enormous. A completely redesigned digital dashboard makes its place, while the characteristic centrally located analog tachometer is retained.
Technology and performance. In this S version, the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder bi-turbo boxer engine delivers an impressive 450 hp and a maximum torque of 530 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, assisted by Launch Control, takes just 3.5 seconds, while reaching 200 km/h takes just 12.1 seconds. The top speed is no less than 308 km/h. These figures correspond to Porsche's official specifications, which are generally known to be conservative. In short, this sports car offers everyday usability and impressive performance.
