The 993 Carrera represents the last of the air-cooled 911s, and many consider it the pinnacle of all air-cooled 911s. Porsche refined everything they’d learned over 30years of 911 development and created a car that balanced everyday usability with sports car performance. The 993 introduced the revolutionary multilink rear suspension that transformed the 911’s handling, making it more stable and approachable, without losing the character that made these cars special.

The heart is the lovely M64/21 engine, the 3.6-litre air-cooled flat-six with twin-plug and Varioram, producing 286 hp at 6,100 rpm and 340 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This engine defines what an air-cooled 911 should sound like: the savage roar at idle, the rising crescendo as revs climb, and the charismatic smell of hot oil and gasoline. Combined with the desirable G50/21 short-ratio gearbox, this Carrera delivers the engaging driving experience that modern cars simply can’t replicate. Every shift, every throttle input gets an immediate response. This is analog motoring at its finest.

This particular 993 was delivered new in Japan in 1996 and has been owned by collectors ever since. Just 8,900km (!) from new. The car comes with full service history from day one and has been meticulously maintained throughout its life, serviced almost every year despite living in collections.
