Beautiful Carrera 4 Cabriolet in which significant investment has been made, everything done by a Porsche dealer and specialists.

You could, of course, opt for an EU car that has seen its fair share of salted roads, endured wet autumn and spring seasons, and accept the resulting mechanical and chassis consequences… Often, such a car is not what you have in mind as an enthusiast. This thought did not make the Dutch buyer of this Porsche 993 Carrera 4 Cabriolet happy either, so he came up with something else. He actually bought this car in America in 2019. The intention was to find a perfect car, with no history, no damage, well-maintained, and to upgrade it to the EU specification. And this Porsche enthusiast has certainly succeeded in doing so. A hobby project that cost him a substantial investment, but the enjoyment and end result were certainly worth it. Naturally, a clean Carfax report, all invoices, maintenance and instruction manuals, further documentation, and correspondence are present.

The vehicle in detail

All work is well documented in invoices from suppliers and Porsche specialists, and the finishing touches were carried out by the professionals at Porsche Centrum Gelderland. A list of what was done includes: major maintenance performed several times, replacement of the Mohair soft top (by Cabrio Partner Leersum), carpet set, rear seats, Koni shock absorbers, brake discs, control arms, suspension bushings, clutch/pressure plate, window seals, lighting, and reflector plate. All added up, we are getting pretty close to an investment of €50.000. Lucrative…? No, not really. But a good car has certainly been produced, and the owner has enjoyed it for 40.000 km. And enjoyment is priceless, isn’t it?

When everything was ready, the owner took it on beautiful tours through Europe and enjoyed it immensely. Now, nearly seven years later, it is time for something new again, and alongside some other cars, that has turned out to be the restoration of a Porsche 356.

This offers opportunities for a new enthusiast of the 993. The last version with an air-cooled engine. The car known for its quality, its very pleasant handling, and its excellent driving characteristics. This is due in no small part to the safe four-wheel drive present in this car. All this packaged in a beautiful convertible body. A version that offers the best of both worlds. Comfortable closed driving and delightful open driving whenever the weather permits. A wind deflector on your neck, the heater on a little, and you can enjoy it early in the spring, not to mention warm summer days. Then you are in your element.
